Another Local Academy in Financial Meltdown

After breaking the news of the financial difficultys being experienced by Range High School, OTS has learned that another local Academy School is at financial breaking point.

Yesterday 20th March 2013, ironically Budget Day, Headteacher Mark Anderson of Maghull High School met with all staff to give them the grim news.

The School will need to find savings of approx £300,000 and this will have to be at the expense of staff jobs.

This news is a far cry from the promise Mr Anderson made when the school converted.   ” There will be no staff cuts or redundancies and no change to the terms and conditions” July 2011   This is the second blow to the school in less than 8 mnths in July 2012 it was downgraded by OFSTED after an inspection.

From being a previously a good school with outstanding features to now no more than “satisfactory”
