ANOTHER Grass and gorse fire at Ainsdale Beach

Monday, 20 April 2020, Coastal Road, Ainsdale

Fire crews are currently in attendance at a large grass and gorse fire on Ainsdale Beach, between the Coastal Road and shore front.

Crews were on scene at 6.34pm. Five fire engines are at the scene.

Crews arrived to find a fire, approximately 400 square metres, on the sand dunes.

Firefighters are using beaters, shovels, main branches and a high pressure hose reel jet to tackle the fire.

There are not believed to be any injuries.

The Coastal Road has been closed between Pontins, Ainsdale, and Southport in both directions.

Crews are tackling the fire in difficult conditions due to high winds.
