Less than two weeks after joining Mighty Radio, local journalist and radio presenter Andrew Hegarty is to be the new host of the Mighty Radio breakfast show from tomorrow.

Andrew, who lives in Birkdale, said, “I’m really looking forward to waking-up the residents of Southport every weekday morning from 8am! I’ll be playing a fantastic variety of music and taking a look at the biggest local and national news stories, as well as keeping my fellow Sandgrounders informed of the latest weather and traffic and travel information. It’s a real honour to be taking control of the biggest breakfast show in Sefton and West Lancashire – I can’t wait to get started!”.

Mighty Radio station manager, and outgoing breakfast show host, Trevor Ford, said, “I’m pleased to be handing over the reins of the show to Andrew. He’s an excellent presenter and I know the listeners will love his style of presenting and the music he plays. I’ll be listening to the show myself now I get to have a lie-in every morning!”.

You can hear the new Mighty Breakfast Show with Andrew Hegarty every weekday morning from 8am at www.mightysouthport.co.uk or by downloading the Mighty Radio or TuneIn radio apps for smartphone and tablet.
