Residents recently required a break from BREXIT and the General Election so Birkdale Park Nursing Home in Southport arranged for a visit by some less controversial candidates. Two gorgeous alpacas from Natterjack Alpacas trotted and nibbled their way around the residents at Birkdale Park. Their only manifesto was to bring joyous enjoyment and amusement to all.
Jonathan Cunningham the Registered Care Manager said, ‘We heard about the alpacas and just had to invite them to visit. The residents, relatives and staff loved them. They even got to feed them! Pets form a huge part of the therapy at Birkdale Park. We have dogs, chickens and now alpacas as part of what we do at Birkdale Park Nursing Home.’
