September Events At Formby Library

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll will be celebrating it’s 150th birthday in 2015 and to mark this, Formby Library is running a special design competition.

Throughout January, the popular Duke Street library wants young budding designers to illustrate a book cover of Alice In Wonderland.

The competition will be open to everyone and will be judged in two age categories: 4-7 and 8 and over. This can be anything from a sketch to a 3D collage and the library is looking for the most imaginative design in each age category.

The competition closes on January 31 and all entries must be submitted to the library by then with the name, age and contact details of the artist.

The winners of each category will be notified in February and invited to a Mad Hatters tea party, where they will receive a £10 Love2shop gift token and see their pictures prominently displayed around the library.

Tickets for the Mad Hatter’s tea party, to be held on February 20, can be purchased from Formby Library from the February 6 and cost £2.

For further details on the design competition and the tea party, call in at the library, call 01704 874177 or email formby.library@sefton.gov.uk
