Businesses in Hoghton Place, Hoghton Street, Southport, take it in turns each day clearing up the empty beer cans and bottles left behind by the alcoholics and drunks from the night before.
Businesses owners have been asking Sefton Council to install CCTV cameras for months now but their wishes have fallen on deaf ears.
The cameras would not only deter drunks leaving rubbish behind but would also reassure safety for members of the public using the alleyway between Anchor Street and Hoghton Street late at night.
