Ainsdale Biker Chick Goes SkyDiving

23rd March 2017

Ainsdale woman Suzi Ferdinand will take a Skydive to help raise funds towards a new Cancer Hospital at Clatterbridge because Like many others her Daddy is fighting Cancer.

Here is Suzi’s story

My beloved Daddy has had a really unlucky time of it in the past couple of years. He is only 62 years-old and he should be planning a happy retirement now.

A couple of years ago my dad had a stroke, he seemed to recover pretty well, but then his recovery took a turn for the worse. After having several tests, scans etc he was told the stroke has now caused the onset of Vascula Dementia, a cruel disease which touches a lot of families.

This was his second set back! Then just as we are coming to terms with the fact Dad will just have to wait until this disease takes hold of him he is stuck again with another hard blow.

He now has Cancer of the voice box! After a period of having nothing much more than a hoarse and then squeaky voice he goes back to hospital for tests only to be told he has a growth on the voice box. Yes it is what we all dread hearing in life…its Cancer.

He is now having treatment after the operation to remove the growth. He is having radiotherapy and more scans etc to make sure this nasty disease has not spread anywhere else. So now its my time to help these great causes. Clatterbridge is a fantastic place and if I can help them with their building a new hospital in the centre of Liverpool then I will do my best and beg you all to support me any way you can. It is so very important to help these great places grow and expand their research.

I work for a brilliant nursing home group “Dovehaven Care Homes” and here I see the effects the disease has on many clients and families.

All we can do is give them 100% nursing care and support at this point in their lives and make it the most comfortable and bearable as we can for them. But now with the support of Dovehaven I’m going a step further for my daddy and other sufferers like him.

I am doing this jump in crazy Suzi style and will be dressed in my motorcycle gear (minus the helmet due to H&S).

I decided to try to make it a little bit more unique with the biker theme to raise more awareness and support from all the bikers out there as well as my family and friends.

I am a pillion rider and have a big love for motorbikes. My partner and I love nothing more than just getting on the bike and setting off on mad adventures. I am really hoping everybody especially the beautiful biker community, will dig deep and get behind me.

Thank you for reading this and any sponsor is appreciated no matter how big or small.

Suzi

If all goes well and I’m successful I will be doing another crazy activity in biker gear but raising money for DementiaUK so watch this space xx

If you would like to donate to this amazing cause you do so here.
