Ainsdale Beach car park to re-open in April with season ticket savings for residents

By On The Spot News23rd March 2026

Ainsdale Beach car parking will officially reopen on Wednesday 1st April, marking the start of the spring and summer visitor season.

Once again, regular visitors who are Sefton residents can save money with a season-long ticket which costs just £40. Season tickets are also available to hybrid or electric car drivers from £40 and to non-residents for £80.

Day rates are £10 per vehicle. Blue badge holders can park free.

    Easy application

The quickest and easiest way to book a cost-saving season ticket is to visit https://forms.sefton.gov.uk/beachparking. A cashless payment system is in place for day visitors.

From Wednesday 1st April until 30th September, parking at Ainsdale is open seven days a week from 10:00am – 6:00pm (last entry 5:00pm), although there can be closures or restrictions due to tides, weather conditions and special events.

    Staff support

Seasonal staff will be on site daily to support visitors, maintain safety, and help protect Ainsdale’s internationally important natural habitats. People planning a visit are advised to check the Sefton Council website and social media channels for daily operational updates, particularly in adverse weather or high-tide conditions.

Toilets are available during the summer season and there is a Changing Places facility, designed for people who are unable to use regular accessible toilets, which is open all year round.

Cllr Mhairi Doyle, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing said: “Once again Sefton residents who are regular users of the parking at Ainsdale beach can make substantial savings by booking a season ticket as can users of more environmentally friendly hybrid and electric vehicles.

“Funds raised from beach parking at Ainsdale are used by Green Sefton to supports essential conservation work, facilities maintenance, staffing, and investment in long-term management across our Sefton coastline.”
