Hi, it’s Adam here. This week I was voted on to the board of directors for the Southport Business Improvement District. (BID)
This is something I am very excited about as I am extremely passionate about Southport, having been born here and lived here my whole life.
Like many small towns across the UK, Southport is struggling to keep it’s head above the water with competition from nearby cities such as Liverpool and Manchester.
As a local independent business owner, I am completely empathetic towards other small business owners here in the town centre who are finding current trading conditions difficult.
I want to see Southport prosper and flourish, with more people visiting our lovely town and to benefit from all that Southport has to offer.
There’s plenty that needs fixing and I will try my best to be a valuable member of the BID team.
This is a voluntary position, I still have my full time job running Yaffe Photography, so I will have to balance my time carefully.
However, I am very keen to hear any views and opinions from other BID levy payers, in particular, those from the retail sector.
Over the coming months, as I learn more about the BID, I’ll be making contact with some of the other business owners to hear about ideas and suggestions.
