A Southport Traffic warden slaps ticket on truck and runs off

This morning a truck mounted platform parked in a loading bay on West Street was given a ticket without any notice, Wednesday November 11.

A witness said: “The traffic warden was hiding behind the cab whist the tradesman carried out work from the platform above. Once he slapped a ticket on he then crouched behind the lorry and waddled off out of site of the workmen.”

“This sort of behavior gives traffic wardens a bad name, why could he not have spoken to workers…? What I witnessed was just sneaky”.

Sefton Council issued 19,417 “parking charge notices” in the period January 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015

Half a million pounds was made by Sefton Council in a year from parking tickets issued in Southport.

On average, 43 tickets a day, or 1,294 a month, were issued, giving the council an income of more than £505,502 in a 15 month period.

The figures, obtained by the OTSnews through a Freedom of Information request, reveal that the Council issued 19,417 “parking charge notices” in the period January 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015.
