A Southport motorcyclist dies in collision in Aughton

A 53 year old man from Southport has died following a collision in Aughton.

We were called at around 5.45am this morning, Thursday 16 July, to reports that there had been a collision involving a bus and a motorcycle on Doctors Bridge, Moss Delph Lane in Aughton.

Officers attended along with the ambulance and fire service. Sadly the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, no one else was injured and there were no passengers on the bus.

PS 3105 Adam Dawson of the Roads Policing Unit said:

“Specialist officers are supporting the family at this difficult time and I would urge anyone with information who may have seen a black motorbike in the area prior to the incident to get in touch. An investigation is underway to establish exactly how the collision came to occur.”
