A Southport Lady Remembers Dogs this Remembrance Sunday

Local lady Freda got in touch with OTS this week, reminding us all that animals had also died in the world wars.

Freda Barker-Baskerville quotes,

“My dog has been wearing a coat to which I attached about 15 poppies, for the last week or so leading up to remembrance Sunday.  It was to remember all the animals that had died in the world wars – dogs and cats in the bomb raids – horses in service (mostly WW1)  – rescue dogs after the blitz looking for survivors and the pigeons on active service carrying messages etc”
