A Python and tarantula are special guests at Southport School

Children from Reception and Year 1 at St. John’s in Crossens had some interesting visitors last week which included a python, corn snake, hissing cockroaches and even a tarantula! These creepy crawlies even brought an owner with them in the form of Dylan from Dylan’s Reptile Time in Haydock who came along to talk to the children about each of the creatures.

Apparently, the children were far braver than the staff when it came to touching or holding each of the creepy crawlies! Harry from Reception said that his favourite bit was when the Bearded Dragon was sat on his head! Mrs. Thomas, Reception teacher at St. John’s stated, “the children found out loads of facts about the different creatures – the day was a wonderful finale to our topic on creepy crawlies”
