A Formby Hall wedding brawl

A Formby Hall wedding reception descended into a mass brawl when six guests and a member staff were allegedly attacked.

Merseyside Police were called to Formby Hall at the weekend (Friday 22 July) after staff at the venue reported a brawl between wedding guests.

A 24-year-old man also reported being punched in the face and a 26-year-old man suffered a cut to the back of his ear.

A 21-year-old woman suffered a suspected broken nose, a 35-year-old woman was reportedly kicked twice to the body, a 48-year-old woman was allegedly punched in the face and a 28-year-old woman reported injuries to her arms after being punched and grabbed.

Police also said: “33-year-old man, who was a member of staff, suffered a cut to his leg.”

Officers arrested a 48-year-old male from Kirkby on suspicion of four counts of actual bodily harm and three minor assaults.

The man was taken to hospital with facial injuries, then taken into custody and later detained under the Mental Health Act.
