6 months driving ban for Southport mum Joanne Jackson after fatal accident
Joanne Jackson, of Linaker Street, Southport, admitted a charge of opening a car door so as to injure or endanger a person at Wirral magistrates’ court on Thursday.
The charge relates to a cycling accident that happened in Linaker Street, Southport, on January 23rd 2014 when she opened a car door which caused a cyclist to fall off his bike and suffer fatal head injuries.
Cyclist Robert Hamilton, a retired lecturer from Southport died after hitting his head on the ground.
She was banned from driving for six months and fined £305.
