A 5-year-old Southport boy is in hospital after standing Formby beach yesterday, Sunday 5 June 2016

Mum Louise Gilbert said: “I want to make people aware to check were they are walking on the beach, my 5-year-old son walked into I fire that had not been put out on Formby beech yesterday.

“There was no staff around to assist in any way, he has gone to hospital and had got to go back for dressing changes.

“I have contacted Sefton council and they have basically said that it’s not their problem and the person in charge of that department is too busy to contact me.”

“Alex is off school but bearing up. Let’s hope this is the last accident as I will be speaking to local MP about it as well.”

OTSNews.co.uk has contacted Sefton Council press department but they have declined to comment on the incident.
