48 year-old Southport man arrested following horrific knife attack Merseyside Police is appealing for witnesses after reports a man was assaulted in Southport. Officers were called to Knowsley Road at around 5pm yesterday (Sunday 8 January). On arrival they found a man who was bleeding from a wound to his neck. The injury is believed to have been caused by a knife. The man was taken to hospital were his condition is described as serious but not life threatening.
