It may have been cloudy in Southport today but it didn’t stop our readers capturing their own amazing pictures of the once-in-a-lifetime event.

As the skies drew dark readers from Southport pointed their cameras to the sky and captured some fantastic pictures of the 2015 solar eclispe.

In 1999 we had our last full solar eclipse. This year’s is only a partial eclipse, but it will still be 11 years before we see another. The next total eclipse is in 2090 – so many around today will never see a total eclipse again.
