19th August 2021

Officers investigating a robbery on-board a train travelling between Southport and Birkdale stations are today releasing this image in connection.

At just before 2pm on Wednesday 21 July, the victim and two friends boarded a train as Southport where they were joined by a man and woman with a baby in a pram.

During the journey, the man engaged the victim in conversation before asking him to turn out his pockets and snatching £200 out of the victim’s hand.

He then lifted his top up stating he had a knife and told the victim to get off the train at Birkdale as well as threatening him with violence.

Officers believe the man in the image may have information which could help their investigation.
