£200 stolen under threat of knife attack onboard train at Birkdale station

By On The Spot News19th August 2021

Officers investigating a robbery on-board a train travelling between Southport and Birkdale stations are today releasing this image in connection.

At just before 2pm on Wednesday 21 July, the victim and two friends boarded a train as Southport where they were joined by a man and woman with a baby in a pram.

During the journey, the man engaged the victim in conversation before asking him to turn out his pockets and snatching £200 out of the victim’s hand.

He then lifted his top up stating he had a knife and told the victim to get off the train at Birkdale as well as threatening him with violence.

Officers believe the man in the image may have information which could help their investigation.

If you recognise him, or have any information, please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 333 of 21/07/21.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
