A 17 year old boy from Preston was arrested this afternoon (Saturday 15th) on suspicion of shop theft, after PCSO’s on foot patrol in Southport town centre were alerted to two males who ran out of a town centre shop, being pursued by shop staff. The PCSO’s gave chase and alerted other police patrols in town to the incident, who were able to detain and arrest one of the males.
An increase in foot patrols in Southport town centre should be noticeable to local residents in the lead up to Christmas.
