Youth Led Funding Available In Southport November 14th, 2014 jmr jmr Latest News Shares Comments Young people aged 13-19yrs have a fantastic opportunity to bid for up to £10,000 of youth led funding for a project they want to deliver in their community in Sefton. The Youth Led Fund aims to: Support and inspire young people to learn Give extra employability skills they may need such as, team working, practical thinking, time keeping and project management Support young people if they wish to deliver projects to their peers and in their local communities Allow young people to develop youth led services in partnership with youth providers. What are the requirements? It must be clear that your idea has been generated by you. You can show this for example, through youth led consultations, through the development of an idea by your youth group, or through discussions with young people on steering panels. Youth led does NOT include ideas from service providers that have been taken to young people for ratification, or by identifying a need through evaluations or area surveys or by providers merely thinking that young people will want an activity. However, youth led activities do not necessarily have to be delivered by young people but it is essential that they are indentified and evaluated by young people. If your project meets the selection criteria then you will be invited to present your idea to the panel. Then, if you are successful, it’s down to you to bring your project idea to life. It is important to remember that whilst young people will be making the decisions the contract will be with Sefton Council. How to apply The closing date for applications will be Friday 5 December 2014. Please download and read theguidance notes before completing the application form. If you have any questions then please contact a member of the Youth Service via email at: [email protected]. Please note that the funding is also available to young people aged 13-25yrs with a special educational need or disability. Related Comments comments!
