It has been a great success. Today when many might be preparing to bring in the New Year Team Xtreme Jonathan Cunningham MBE (Race Director) and Peter Massey (Head of Obstacle design and build) have been finalising the engineering means of fixing the 150m square netting to the pier end. It is such a technical challenge to ensure the obstacle ‘Pier Assault’ is safe and able to stand the impact of over 3000 competitors. Pier Assault is at the 6.5 mile point on XtremeSTORM and will be approximately the 20th obstacle the competitors will face. It will be like no other UK event. XtremeSTORM is set to be the UKs toughest urban obstacle endurance event. Southport is set to be transformed into the largest obstacle course ever on 20th and 21st April 2013.
