UPDATED WWII grenade found in Sefton March 26th, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments INCIDENT KINGSWAY, WATERLOO Merseyside Police can confirm that roads have been closed as a precaution in Waterloo, Sefton, following the discovery of what is believed to be a WWII grenade. Officers were called to Kingsway, Waterloo, at 10.49am following the discovery of the grenade by the occupant whilst sorting through items bequeathed by a relative. The force’s Matrix Unit is currently in attendance at the address and specialist officers are carrying out preliminary examinations. Kingsway has been closed between Crosby Road North and Stuart Road as a precaution whilst the device is made safe. Motorists are advised to avoid the area whilst the incident is ongoing. UPDATE (2.05pm): Merseyside Police can confirm that the bomb disposal team have attended at the address on Kingsway, Waterloo, and declared the device safe. The road has now been reopened.
