Woman in hospital after being knocked down in Southport (otsnews.tv)

A Woman pedestrian has been injured after being involved in a road traffic collision on London Street, Southport.

The emergency services were called to London Street shortly after 9.15am to an accident involving a car and a pedestrian.

The woman, who is in her 70s, was treated at the scene taken to Southport hospital by paramedics.

A Citroen Picasso had knocked the lady over as the car was travelling towards Southport train station.

The road was closed to traffic while police were on the scene.

The condition of the driver is not known at the present time, update will follow.
