Will Sefton Council give Churchtown village a Christmas tree this year?

OTSnews can confirm that the Churchtown Christmas lights switch on will take place on Friday 4th December.

Churchtown business owners met earlier this week at their annual meeting to discuss plans for the village over the Christmas period.

Concerns have been raised to whether or not the Council is going to provide a Christmas tree.

There are growing concerns from business owners that money is being pumped back into the town centre only with the current unrest and organisation with the Southport bid.

This is a sad situation for locals in churchtown and has never happened before; locals want to know why and where the money is going to.

A local resident quoted

‘Churchtown Is such a busy little village, with local shops and pubs which drive money and people here.

We all want to see a tree in the village its part of Christmas cheer, and makes Churchtown look even more beautiful at a special time of year’

OTS will keep you up to date with any further information on this matter.

Tree or no tree switch on will take place outside the Hesketh Arms
