Where Are Our Cones?

After holding two highly successful AutoSolo events – one in Ormskirk and the other last Saturday at the Jaguar Land Rover plant at Halewood – Aintree Circuit Club, organisers of the Motorfest, were dismayed on Monday morning to find that overnight, essential equipment had been stolen.

In readiness for the Motorfest, which takes place in less than three weeks time, the club had purchased a number of motorsport certified fire extinguishers and a quantity of traffic cones. It is a condition of Motorfest’s licence that extinguishers are in-place, while without the cones the AutoSolo event planned as a new feature this year cannot take place.

Along with the trailer on which they were stored, all the items were stolen from a locked yard at Crowland Street, Southport in the early hours of Monday morning.

The trailer is an Ifor Williams twin axle trailer, there were 80 brand new traffic cones and ten brand new dry powder fire extinguishers, all marked.

The club have CCTV of a white van waiting close by timed at around 05:00am Monday morning.

The club are offering a reward of £250 for information on who carried out this theft and £450 if the trailer, cones and extinguishers are all recovered.

Anyone who has any information about this theft is urged to contact [email protected] or the police.
