8th July 2016

Today July 7th took us to The Cross House Inn Formby, On West Lancs MG Owners Club fourth mid-month meet. The Cross House Inn stands on the roundabout at the junction of Three Tuns Lane and Liverpool Road Formby.

With the nights staying lighter and the evenings a little warmer most of the members stay outside for the first hour or more catching up with each other’s news and having just a general chat and a drink and then a little later we venture inside to carry on the conversation but tonight we all managed to stay outside (even the ladies). The Cross House Inn is a traditional pub it was a very attractive Victorian house in its day, Inside is old with a touch of the modern and they serve a full selection of wines, spirits and beers also food is served from an extensive main menu and Specials board. Check out their website here.

The weather for the evening was full sunshine when we arrived turning a little grey as the night fell in but still warm enough to sit out with a light jacket or jumper. Nineteen members turned out (with another two prospective members joining in) and the car line up was 1 MG TA,2 MGF’s,6 MGB’s,1 RV8,2 MG TF’s and one midget along with the trusty  VW camper-van and a BMW Z4. And the line up caused quite a stir with many of the public coming out of the pub and coming over for a chat. We would like to thank the management and staff for the use of their car park and the hospitality we received.

Some of the members enjoying the beer garden.
