“We must build on Green Belt” says Sefton Labour Chief

Thousands of new homes will be built on Green Belt if the Council’s Local Plan goes ahead. This will include roughly two thousand new homes in Southport.

 Sefton Council Labour chief Peter Dowd says:
“I am under no illusion that there are elements of the local plan that some people will not like but we cannot hide away from these issues Sefton Council says that the plan should”make Sefton an even better place to live, work and visit – with improved housing, new infrastructure, transport links and more job opportunities.”
The draft Local Plan will be put before the Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee tomorrow (Tuesday) to see whether it is fit to be put out to public consultation.
