WATCH: Storm Doris hits Southport with 80mph gales – Updates

Albert road in Southport has been closed to both traffic and pedestrians after the parts of the roof were blown of the Esso petrol station roof.

Instead of moving the debris off the pavement and out of the wind police had the idea of park the van on top of it.

A fallen trees is blocking off the public footpath (2pm)


The roof was blown off Mountain Warehouse at Central 12 (11.30am)

Strong winds bring tree down on Beresford Drive

Strong winds over the last two days have brought down a tree on Beresford Drive, Churchtown, Southport, Thursday 23 February 2017

A Beresford Drive resident said: “I have expressed my concerns about this tree to Sefton Council over the past two years – but nothing was done!”

“It’s lucky no one was injured!”
