Warning after spate of Southport burglaries

Residents are being warned in Southport to be on their guard after a spate of burglaries continue in the town.

The latest crimes happened over the weekend, in the early hours of Saturday morning and sparked a warning for people to make sure they lock their doors and windows at night.

Burglars entered an address in Windsor Road through a window which had been opened with a screwdriver.

Laptops, iPad, tablet, jewellery and car stolen was stolen. There were very similar burglaries in the Manchester Road area also.

The victim of the Windsor Road crime said: I don’t want anyone else to experience this awful sense of violation. We’ve been here for 6 years without an incident but you never know.

With everything going on in the world it’s fairly insignificant but still unpleasant in my little world.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area should contact police on 101, or if you believe a crime is in progress always dial 999.
