Sefton Libraries are encouraging young people to help support the Summer Reading Challenge this year.  Volunteers aged 14 to 25 are needed for the Challenge which encourages children to continue reading through the long summer holidays.

The Summer Reading Challenge takes place every year during the summer holidays and encourages children aged 4-12 to read up to six books of their own choice over the summer, gaining rewards along the way and developing a life-long love of reading for pleasure.

This summer Sefton Libraries would like to encourage young people aged 14 to 25 across the borough to volunteer by helping with activities such as craft sessions and storytime readings within a local library.

In addition to helping children to discover the joy of reading, volunteers will also get the opportunity to meet new people and gain an experience for their UCAS form or CV.

More information is available from your local library or by emailing library.service@sefton.gov.uk
