Visit Wonderland at WWT Martin Mere’s Mad Hatters Tea Party June 3rd, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments Visit Wonderland at WWT Martin Mere’s Mad Hatters Tea Party Have fun and help raise money for Meningitis Trust and WWT WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre is hosting a special charity event on Thursday 13 June to raise money for Meningitis Trust and WWT: the toddler Mad Hatters Tea Party. Included in the event is: · A sponsored toddle waddle to the duckling nursery · A raffle to win fantastic prizes · Story time sessions · Pin the grin on the Cheshire cat · Find the playing cards · Toss the hat · Colouring sheets, face painting and many other activities to keep the little one entertained all day. The event starts at 10.30am with story time and the toddle waddle begins at 11am. There will be special prizes for the best dressed toddler as well. Centre Manager, Nick Brooks, said: “At Martin Mere we feel that it is important to work with local community groups to help raise money for other charities as well as allowing a wider audience that may never have visited Martin Mere enjoy what we have to offer. Wetland centres are bursting with new life at the moment and it is a perfect place for a family day out, get up close to British and exotic birds in beautiful surroundings, with safe dedicated play areas and a full programme of summer activities. Coming along to this event will give toddlers an opportunity to start an enjoyment of nature at an early age.” The Meningitis Trust understands how meningitis and septicaemia can change people’s lives in an instant. The suddenness of the disease can lead to confusion, feelings of isolation and disbelief. The Trust is an advisory, guidance and support service for families coping with this disease and the aftermath. The cost to take part is £3 per toddler.
