Police raided a Formby Garage on the Mayflower Trading Estate today, Wednesday 29 April.

A number of vehicles, quads and motorcycles were seized during the raid.

Acting Detective Inspector Tony O’Brien from Sefton CID, said:

“As part of a CID investigation into the theft and sale of stolen vehicles across Sefton, a team of local neighbourhood support officers executed a Theft Act warrant at a unit on Mayflower Industrial Estate in Formby on Wednesday morning.

“The officers searched the premises, which consisted of a workshop and rear yard and found a number of cars, vans and motorcycles as well as parts of vehicles which they suspected to be stolen.

“The vehicles and vehicle parts were seized and taken to a secure unit where further enquiries will be carried out to establish if they are stolen and where they originated from.

“A 43-year-old man from the Aigburth area of Liverpool was arrested at the premises on suspicion of theft of motor vehicles.

“He was taken to a local police station and interviewed by detectives before being released on police bail pending further enquiries.

“An investigation by Sefton CID remains ongoing and we would continue to appeal for information from people in the community about any suspicious or criminal activity where they live.”
