Southport Mersey Rail staff called BTP Police when a member of the public reported a man trying to scale the fence at the London Street side of the Station 11.45am (Thursday 12 February 2015).
The man claimed to police that he lived in Burnley and that a taxi had dropped him off after he had an argument with his girl friend.
A Witness said:
” Its obvious that this man was intoxicated, he could hardly walk never mind climb the fence. Thankfully he did not harm himself”.
Back up arrived and the man was taken into custody for further questioning.
