Video: Bandits Do A Job On Lloyds Bank Southport

Police were called to Lloyds Bank, Cambridge Rd, Southport at approximately 4:30pm (Thursday 8 January 2015)

Police cordoned off the main front door and a side entrance that leads to the rear of the bank following a serious incident that took place at the bank.

A member of the public outside said:

“The bandits came through the ceiling as staff were cashing up, the staff then panicked and rushed into the fish shop next door”.

 

Officers attended the scene and a search of the area was carried out.

The bank was cordoned off for crime scene investigators to forensically examine the building, and CCTV from the surrounding area is being located.

Det Sgt John Fitzgerald, of Sefton CID said: “We believe the offenders got away in a dark coloured saloon car, possibly a BMW.

“I would appeal to people who may have seen this car, or anything suspicious in the area, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
