Update: Women dies in Cemetery Road Crash Southport December 22nd, 2014 jmr jmr Latest News Shares Comments Merseyside Police can confirm an investigation is underway following the death of a woman in Southport after an RTC this morning (Monday, 22 December). Officers were called at about 8.50am to the junction of Cemetery Road and Duke Street to a report a white Ford Transit van had been in collision with the rear of a Ford Kuga and a Jaguar S Type. The 72-year-old driver of the van was taken to hospital following the collision where she unfortunately died. The occupants of the other vehicles sustained slight injuries. The woman has been identified and her next-of-kin are in the process of being advised. The scene was cordoned off for examination by MSOC Roads Policing Investigation Unit. The vehicles have since been removed and the road is now reopen. An investigation into the incident is on-going.
