UPDATE: Unexplained death in Southport
Merseyside Police can confirm that officers attended an address in Promenade, Southport this afternoon (Thursday, 24 February) following the discovery of the body of a man.
Emergency services were called to the address at around 1.40pm and the man, believed to be in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man’s next of kin have been informed, but he is yet to be formally identified. A post mortem will take place to establish the cause of death.
His death is being treated as unexplained at this time and enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances of his death.
