A delegate staying at the hotel said: I have been staying at the ramada plaza and myself and my colleague have both been hit by the virus. We are attending a conference and many of our colleagues have been taken ill. The conference staff informed us of an airborne virus on Tuesday and removed all drinking points from around the room and provided delegates with large bottles if water. We were advised to drink water if we felt unwell. As the week has gone on, more and more delegates and national officials were taken ill. It has not been a successful prison officers association conference. We were told today that this matter is being looked by the health agency and also Sefton council. They have called it an epidemic.
