UPDATE APPEAL FOR INFO – ASSAULT – WEST STREET SOUTHPORT March 7th, 2014 admin Latest News Shares Comments APPEAL FOR INFO – ASSAULT – WEST STREET SOUTHPORT Detectives in Sefton are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Southport last night (Thursday, 6 March). Officers were called to West Street at about 7.50pm following a report that an 18-year-old man had received a cut to his leg. The injury is thought to have been caused by a knife and the male offender approached the victim from behind. The victim was taken to hospital were he is receiving treatment to his injury which is serious but not life threatening. Patrols in the area were increased in an effort to identify the offender whilst detectives checked CCTV from the immediate area and carried out house-to-house enquiries. The motive for the assault is unknown at this stage and a full investigation into the incident is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
