The emergency services responded to a 999 call at around 8am this morning, Saturday November 14.
Fire appliances from Southport Community Fire Station arrived within minutes of the call.
The fire started in the downstairs of the property and quickly spread throughout the house.
Fortunately the two occupants within the address escaped prior to the fire service arriving.
The occupants were taken to Southport hospital to be treatred for smoke inhalation.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service remain at the scene.
