Two jets skiers rescued by Southport Lifeboat May 17th, 2014 admin Latest News Shares Comments Two jets skiers rescued by Southport Lifeboat Two jet skiers were rescued at 9:20pm tonight (Saturday 17th May 2014) when they ran aground by the last perch on the Ribble Estuary sandbank. They left Blackpool and were heading to Southport when they ran a ground and became stranded. Southport lifeboat was launched along with two quad bikes as the tide was coming in. It was a joint operation with the Coast Guard and Lytham Lifeboat. They were taken ashore and checked over by paramedics. Both were ok.
