Two Arrested In Connection With Formby Burglary

Merseyside Police can confirm two people have been arrested in connection with a burglary in Formby yesterday (Wednesday, 2 March).

At around 2.15pm, a member of the public contacted police to report suspicious behaviour at a house in Woodlands Road, Formby.

A short time later, a car stolen from the burglary was pursued and abandoned in St Matthews Close, Liverpool. With the assistance of the helicopter, two males aged 18-years from West Derby and a 17-year-old youth from Norris Green, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and taken to police stations on Merseyside for questioning.

Officers recovered the blue Ford Focus, which will be forensically examined.

Formby Neighbourhood Inspector Jim Atherton said: “While enquiries are on-going in relation to this incident, we are very thankful to the member of the public who contacted us to report this suspicious behaviour. As we have done on this occasion, when we receive information, we will take positive action and make arrests.”
