Tickets for the fifth Rock The Lakes festival are going fast, with organisers predicting another sell-out event.

The rock festival at Leisure Lakes will see 15 bands from across the UK perform on August 21,22 and 23 2105.

Organisers are predicting up to 1,500 will descend on the Mere Brow site.

Among the bands set to take to the stage are The Rockits – who are The Cavern’s house band, Southport favourites Fag Ash Lil and Sack Sabbath.

Festival Organiser Mike Blundell said: “It’s all going really well and tickets are selling fast.

“We’ve got some great bands playing this year from all over and it shows how much the festival has developed over the past five years.

“People come to the festival from as far away as Devon, Wales and Newcastle-upon-tyne, some people treat it as their annual holiday, which is great.

“We have babies right up to 90-year-olds coming along and everyone really enjoys it.”

Festival-goers are able to pitch their tent at the Leisure Lakes in Mere Brow from Thursday morning onwards.

Weekend camping tickets are £40, day passes for Friday and Sunday are £12 and Saturday’s day pass is £17.

Tickets are available from http://www.rockthelakes.co.uk/ , Bernies Bernadette Moran hair stall at Southport indoor market, Highroad car spares shop, Marshside Rd, Southport and the Lakeside bar at the Leisure Lakes
