Three Southport ‘kings’ are in a different class!

A fledgling Southport company is proving a class act – thanks to a trio of former pupils at one of the town’s foremost schools.

James Hargreaves Plumbing Depot only opened its trade counter and bathroom showroom on Hall Street in August, but brisk business has already prompted extra recruitment.

Manager Matthew Edwardson has been joined by Paul Redford and Shane Rimmer – all three of them ex-pupils at Christ the King Catholic College!

“It has not been a recruitment policy – none of us were even in the same year, let alone friends – but it is quite a coincidence,” said 33-year-old Matthew.

Paul, 46, (assistant manager) and 43-year-old Shane (driver/warehouse) both live in Southport and have a combined 28 years’ experience in the plumbing and heating industry.

The branch has far exceeded its initial targets in the first few weeks of trading and Matthew believes further expansion could be necessary in the not-too-distant future.

“It’s been really busy. I always thought it would do well, but the impact has even taken me by surprise. We have only just gone fully operational, but if the pace stays the same we could be adding to the workforce again soon.”
