Three Cheers for Southport Restaurateur at part of the this year’s Comedy Festival

Trattoria 51 has joined forces with Big Comedy for the third year running as part of the upcoming Southport Comedy Festival.

Local restaurateur Attilio Sergi is set to host and perform an evening of stand-up in front of a live audience at the popular Southport Promenade venue on Tuesday, October 18.

Following the success of last year’s sell-out show, guests will be in for a ‘whole lot of laughter’ courtesy of a quartet of comedy performances, while also enjoying a two-course Italian feast.

Attilio said: “Having performed at Southport Comedy Festival for the past two years, it’s a real honour to once again take to the stage and let my inner joker loose. I’m very much excited to join three of the finest comedians in the UK comedy circuit, these being Brendan Riley, Daliso Chaponda and Archie Kelly.

“Last year Trattoria 51’s involvement with the festival was a sell-out so it’s certainly rewarding so see how Brendan’s comedy coaching has paid off! It’s a fantastic chance for us to welcome both new and familiar faces to our venue, and to enjoy an evening filled with food, fun and fits of laughter.”

Trattoria 51, located on Southport’s famous promenade, serves a wide selection of authentic Italian dishes including pizza, pasta, steak and fish, all of which have been created with home-grown recipes.

Big Comedy is responsible for some of the finest comedy nights in the UK and is the brainchild behind the annual Southport Comedy Festival. Attilio Sergi was selected by Big Comedy following the successes of his 2014 and 2015 gigs, which took place after intensive coaching by the evening’s host Brendan Riley to deliver his material to a live audience.

Attilio added: “In previous years when I have collaborated with Big Comedy, we’ve had a great deal of fun both behind the scenes and on the night itself. We hope that our collective efforts will mean that there’s not a dry eye in sight!”

Big Comedy at Trattoria 51 will take place on Tuesday, October 18 from 6:30pm at 51 Promenade, Southport. Tickets are available from the venue and include a live comedy show together with a two-course meal and are priced at £20.
