The number 15 Cumfybus will not stray off its usual course and go down Aughton street in place of the number 47 Arriva Bus which had run since the early 1900’s.

David Barton, the Dukes ward councillor, said it had been a lengthy and tedious process but that he way very pleased at the out come along with a large number of residents. He said: “I would like to extend my warmest gratitude on behalf of the local residents of Aughton Road, notably the senior citizens here in our community and the young mothers that frequent the service, to Cumfybus, Merseytravel and particularly Arriva for working together in partnership with me to achieve this wonderful result for our community.”

A resident of Aughton Street said to OTSnews: “I am thrilled to see that there will be a new bus service coming down here. It’s a real lifeline for some older residents allowing them to get into town if they can’t drive themselves.
