The Kitchen Sink to host ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care on 27th-28th June June 26th, 2014 admin Latest News Shares Comments The Kitchen Sink to host ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care on 27th-28th June What could be better than spending an hour enjoying a great British cuppa with delicious Rhubarb & Custard Cream Biscuit Cupcakes, created especially by Great British Bake Off winner Frances Quinn, while donating to help Marie Curie Cancer Care nurses provide more free care locally to people with terminal illnesses? That’s why local kitchen company The Kitchen Sink is hosting a ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’, as part of the Marie Curie national fundraising drive, at its showroom (behind Southport Flooring Centre on Eastbank Street) on Friday and Saturday, 27th-28th to raise vital funds for such a worthy cause. Anyone and everyone are welcome to come along on the day and join in. And to help put the fun into this fundraising event, The Kitchen Sink is being helped by leading kitchen sink and tap manufacturer Franke who commissioned The Great British Bake Offwinner, Frances Quinn, to create her scrumptious cupcakes, which guests can enjoy with a freshly-brewed cuppa brewed using one of Franke’s state-of-the-art Minerva boiling water taps. Franke is encouraging all if its retailers nationwide to throw open their showroom doors and host a tea party and raise as much money as possible for Marie Curie. Says Kevin Long, Owner at The Kitchen Sink: “We’re thrilled to be hosting our own ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ and we intend to raise as much money as possible to help Marie Curie nurses provide care for terminal cancer sufferers, either in their own homes or at one of the charity’s hospices. Money raised at local level can be directly channelled to a local hospice so this a superb community based project that everyone can make a positive contribution to. Our thanks go to Franke and bakery ingredients manufacturer, Bakels, for supplying the delicious cupcakes and we’re hoping for a great turn out on the day.” Frances Quinn has also created two other exclusive fun-to-bake recipes for Franke based around the theme of tea party biscuits – a Giant Chocolate Oaty Biscuit and a delicious Bourbon Biscuit Chocolate Cake. In return for a donation to Marie Curie, visitors to the tea party not only get a free cupcake and a cuppa, but are given a copy of all three recipes to take away and bake for themselves at home. The recipes are also be available to the public via Franke’s website on www.franke.com, and by linking directly to the Marie Curie Just Giving Page. All three recipes can be downloaded in return for a donation. Franke are also promoting awareness of their fundraising initiative for Marie Curie through social media on Twitter and Facebook.
