THE SOUTHPORT AND WEST LANCS GLAUCOMA SUPPORT GROUP we will be welcoming the IGA. at the Royal Clifton Hotel, the Promenade Southport. This will be a public meeting, so admission is free. The IGA is the International Glaucoma Association, has a membership world wide and produces an excellent magazine full of information and help for people suffering from Glaucoma. They have a Sight Line telephone service, internet forum, newsletters, and work with other medical organizations. They are also involved in the setting up of local support groups such as the one in Southport. In fact, they support the group, and the group supports them. Speakers will include Professor Ian Grierson, Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Liverpool, Mr. Gonzalez-Martin, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals, and attending from the IGA Mr. Russell Young and Mr. David Harris.
