UKIP’s parliamentary candidate for Southport, Terry Durrance, will be officially opening the party’s local campaign office on Saturday.

The shop premises are in the heart of the town at the north end of Lord Street and are open everyday for people to drop in for a chat and information about UKIP policies and plans.

“I started my General Election campaign some time ago and have been receiving a tremendous response,” said Mr Durrance, former chairman of the town’s thriving branch.

“I have been getting out and about each day canvassing and just chatting to people about UKIP and how we seek to improve their day to day lives. The shop premises means that there is a central point to which residents can go for information and can arrange to meet me personally if they wish.

“I will be officially launching the premises, which are near the Bold Hotel, at 10.30 am on Saturday and from the response I’ve been getting on doorsteps I’m hopeful that we will get a lot of footfall at the office,” he said.

The shop at 597 Lord Street is open between 9 – 5 pm Monday to Saturdays and 10 – 4 pm on Sundays.
